Sensitivity Begins With Prayer🙏🏽🧎🏽♀️➡️
Sensitivity to the voice of God begins with prayer.
Pray before making every decision. When you are in doubt or facing uncertainty, seek God first. Become a God-seeker. Remain open to His truth, allowing Him to give you not only clarity but also a sound mind. He will direct your path as long as you remember to seek Him first.
At the start of your day, at the top of your morning, go boldly before the throne of grace. Ask God for mercy, grace, wisdom, and divine guidance. Rather than telling God what you want Him to do, ask Him, “Lord, is this Your will?” Seek His direction and His perfect will for your life.
The truth is, we do not always know what we truly need—only God does. We know what we want, but if we are honest, we do not need everything we desire. Many of our own pursuits can bring unnecessary burdens and distress.
The Word of God reminds us:
“The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22)
When God blesses, His blessings come with peace, purpose, and provision—not regret, confusion, or unnecessary sorrow.
Prayer keeps our hearts sensitive to the Holy Spirit. It aligns our desires with God’s desires. It teaches us to wait, to listen, and to obey. The more time we spend in His presence, the more clearly we recognize His voice and the more confidently we walk in His will.
The book of James reminds us of the power of prayer:
“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
James 5:16 (NLT)
Never underestimate the power of a life that begins in prayer. Sensitivity to God is cultivated in His presence. Before every decision, every conversation, every opportunity, and every assignment—pray first. The greatest wisdom is not found in having all the answers, but in seeking the One who does.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for inviting me into a deeper relationship with You. Forgive me for the times I have relied on my own understanding instead of seeking Your wisdom. Today I choose to become a true seeker of Your heart.
Create in me a sensitivity to Your voice. Remove every distraction, every false motive, every fear, and every desire that is not pleasing to You. Quiet every competing voice so that I may hear the gentle leading of Your Holy Spirit.
Lord, before I make decisions, teach me to pause and pray. Before I speak, teach me to listen. Before I move, teach me to wait for Your direction. Let my life be governed by Your Word and not by my emotions or circumstances.
I ask for Your mercy, Your grace, and Your wisdom each morning. Order my steps according to Your perfect will. Open only the doors that You have ordained for me, and give me the courage to walk away from every door You have not opened.
Thank You for directing my path, protecting me from unnecessary sorrow, and blessing me with Your peace. I trust that Your plans are greater than my own, and I willingly surrender my desires to Your perfect purpose.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
